Enabling Microsoft login in Teamvibe
Turn on Microsoft as a sign-in option so employees can use Continue with Microsoft on the Teamvibe login page and during onboarding.
- Sign in to Teamvibe with an account that has organization admin access
- Open Admin Center from the main navigation
- Select the People card to open the People admin page
- Open the Roles & access tab (next to Members)
- In the Access Control panel, find Authentication providers
- Click the Microsoft provider card to enable it. When enabled, the card appears selected. Teamvibe saves the change immediately and shows a confirmation toast
- In the Allowed Domains panel on the right, add your company email domains (for example
yourcompany.com). This is required if employees sign in from the Microsoft Teams app. For web sign-in only, it restricts who can join by email domain
After Microsoft login is enabled, users with a matching Microsoft work account can sign in from the login screen. If Microsoft login is disabled, the Microsoft button is hidden even when Directory Sync is connected.
Linking Microsoft for Teams
The Teamvibe Microsoft Teams app needs your Microsoft tenant linked to your Teamvibe organization. This is separate from Directory Sync. Complete these steps in your web browser at your Teamvibe company URL before installing the app in Teams.
- Sign in at your company URL (for example
yourcompany.teamvibe.com) with a Teamvibe organization admin account - If you have not already, enable Microsoft login in Admin Center → People → Roles & access (see Enabling Microsoft login)
- In Allowed Domains, add your organization's Microsoft work email domain (for example
yourcompany.com). It must match the domain employees use to sign in to Microsoft Teams - Sign out if you are already signed in, return to the login page, and choose Continue with Microsoft. An organization admin must complete this once to link your Microsoft tenant to Teamvibe
- Pin Teamvibe in the Microsoft Teams admin center (see the Microsoft Teams integration guide)
After browser setup and pinning, employees with a Teamvibe account can sign in inside Teams using their Microsoft work email.
Connecting Microsoft Entra through Directory Sync
Directory Sync is optional. Use it when you want to import users from Microsoft Entra into Teamvibe, keep profiles up to date, and add or deactivate members based on your sync settings. It is not required for Microsoft sign-in or the Teams app.
Connect Microsoft Entra
- From Admin Center, open the Directory Sync card
- Read the notice at the top of the page: an IT or Entra admin must authorize the initial connection to Microsoft Entra
- In the Connect section, click Add connection
- In the Add Connection dialog, select Microsoft Entra and click Connect
- You are redirected to Microsoft to sign in and grant consent. Complete admin consent for your tenant when prompted
- After authorization, you return to Teamvibe. Microsoft Entra should appear under Connect with a Connected status
Configure sync settings
- In the Configure panel on the right, choose a Sync Mode:
- Manual only — preview changes before applying (recommended for your first sync)
- Auto-add — new directory users are added automatically; removals still require review
- Auto-add & deactivate — adds and deactivates users automatically to match Entra
- Optional: enable Send welcome emails to newly added users if you want Teamvibe to email people when they are first imported
- If you changed any settings, click Save Settings
Preview and apply your first sync
- Scroll to the Review & Apply section
- Confirm Microsoft Entra is selected in the provider dropdown
- Click Preview to load a summary of pending changes (users to add, update, deactivate, or skip)
- Review the preview table and counts. If users will be deactivated, check the confirmation box before applying
- Click Apply Sync to import the changes into Teamvibe
- When the sync finishes, check Sync history at the bottom of the page for the run status and results. Synced users appear in Admin Center → People → Members
For later updates, return to Directory Sync, run Preview again to see what changed in Entra, then Apply Sync when you are ready. Use Re-run if you need a fresh preview after changing settings.
